Western Australia Inc.

(Re-Established 1991)

Cornish Association Logo

The Cornish Association of Western Australia Inc. was formed originally in 1974 but through a variety of reasons recessed in the eighties, with only a few remaining members still meeting on an infrequent basis. Since the first revival meeting in February 1991 we have come a long way and our membership has increased steadily.

    Our meetings consist of:

  • Regular talks about Cornish History by our own Cornish Bard.

  • Cornish readings, stories and Poetry.

  • Family History Workshops

  • Pasty Suppers.

  • Social Outings, including Bus Trips, Picnics, Visits to Historical Houses or Sites.

  • Video and Slide Evenings.

  • Annual Events - St. Piran's Day BBQ., Christmas Outing and Bring and Buy Stall. Interesting extras include Craft Evenings, Cornish Sing-alongs and members' talks.

Members also receive the newsletter- "THE PISKEY POST" on a regular basis. This has proven to be a marvelous link with members who cannot make the meetings. It also keeps us all up to date with items of interest in our own Association, or those elsewhere, be it in Australia, overseas or in Cornwall itself.
